Make a Game of It -Books or Short Story Sidebar

I'm still ironing out this idea. Have you noticed your popular movies, cartoon characters or picture book characters have games loosely based on some of your childhood favorites.

What board games did you enjoy? What were some of the traits they shared?
  • Roll a dice or spin a spinner to move so many spaces per turn.
  • Cards with instructions to tell a player what to do.
  • Spaces with instructions to move forward, backwards, to the beginning, end or some other location on the board.
What about card games? You could instruct people to put a sticker of some character(s) on specific playing cards.

Create a match game with your book characters & scenes. In Power point make a grid and fill in the grid with your graphics. Include instructions to cut them out of card stock. If you want to have it as a giveaway, you can cover each card stock sheet with clear shelf paper.

Make a Tic Tac Toe board. With two characters from your book 9designate them as x's & O's.

Are there other games you can think of converting or can you make up a compleely original game? Leave a comment and contribute your ideas.
