Exciting News on the Writing Front
Plagued by the weakness of my left arm and hand, I'm forced to stop typing long before my brain tires. I've been confined to writing a measly 500 words a day, because my arm fatigues.
A novel-length book is roughly 120,000 to 160,000 words. I'm looking at 240 to 320 days for a rough first draft. Then editing, tweaking the story flow, writing a synopsis, and looking for an agent could be a three year process with luck. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
I had a caregiver that teased me, "If it wasn't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any luck." Well, there are days it feels that way, but it's obvious how blessed I am. So many face their hardships without a supportive family or faith. I can't imagine. Both strengthen and hearten me.

I told you my previous respiratory terrorist (I mean therapist) was visiting. So, why am I telling you this?
Ron Hill, my friend and respiratory therapist, has a patient that has a computer program that senses
what to type by him looking at the keys on the keyboard. He’s not using it. So, Ron is going to
see if I can have it.
Do I dare to hope? I think I will. If it doesn't work for me I'll slog along in my Slow Mode. How great would it be if it does? He'll look into it next week.
I've tried the Dragon Naturally Speaking, and it doesn't understand me. The ventilator coupled with the halting way I speak made me unintelligible to it. I bought it years ago and was very disappointed that it didn't work. Lawyers, doctors, writers and disabled people use it with great success.
Don't hesitate to try it. I've heard wonderful things about it. It just didn't work in my situation.
Writing Progress
A Journey of Laughter Through Tears Part II Word Count 12,976
Two steps forward and one back - it's the story of my life.lol Hopefully I'll make incredible progress and the learning curve will be a minor blip in my writing progress.
Champion Bull Rider
My
cousin, Bobby Lynn Latham has 8 All Around World Champion Bull Rider
titles. She's the only one that can claim that. Yet, she's not in the
Cowgirl Hall of Fame. When I asked why she said, "I did it cuz I loved it,
not to be in the Cowgirl Hall of Fame.
Well,
I'm a historian and it's not right for her not to share her story.
She's a bit hard headed. I think that's a prerequisite to ride bulls.
lol I may have never ridden a bull, but I'm pretty hard headed, and I'm
fixin to get on her rear about it.

I like your first name. My name is also Jessica, and I am legally blind in one eye. I am encouraged by you, because I am glad to see people blogging good things (as in things that aren't sinful, things that inspire or relate.) and I hope you are strengthened and grow in your Walk with Christ! I hope with God you can overcome any and all obstacles, and you are doing His Will.
God bless.
Sorry, but I want to leave you with nothing but good thoughts: I can never understand what you go through, but I understand God is on your side and I do not want to have thought you think I take things too lightly. I know though, that despite the bad life is a delight, especially with God, even through persecution and difficult times, and you are blessed to know this too as I am sure you do.
Hi, Jessica! I hope you are able to get and use the computer program you mentioned getting through your friend. That would be wonderful for you.
