Conquering the Beast
Hello Friends!
Today we gave Rebel a bath. Rebel is Squeaky's Great Dane. He was startint to really get a bit too ripe so Lisa and I had been requesting a bath or nose clips.
This dog was not into this activity whatsoever. It took me, Lee and Steve to hold and wash him. A wet Great Dane is not exactly easy to handle--especially one who has no desire to be wet. He does smell much better now and my fingers don't turn black when I scratch his body. Goal achieved!
This weekend we are going to have more company. Squeaky's old respiratory therapist is coming for a visit. They haven't seen each other for quite a few years so it will be good for Squeaky. He will demand that she gets out of bed and we will be able to finish up her interviews. I will also be interviewing Ron and getting more details on the treatments that are required for Squeaky's daily care. I wanted to get more technical knowledge so this is the perfect opportunity.
Well, I have another 2 weeks left here. It is amazing how fast things go around here. The day is already over when I am getting my second wind. It takes me forever to get moving in the morning. I wake up hurting so much and by the time the pills kick in, I have very little daytime left. I want so badly to get as much as I can before I leave but editing will take time.
I am enjoying my time in Texas very much but I do have to admit that I am missing my husband and dog an awful lot. I was dreaming about both of them last night and that means they are on my mind more than I am aware. Being apart does make the heart grow fonder and I guess that goes for grumpy old men and spoiled little dogs!
Until next time!
Loves,
K
