Heart Sick

I've got a program I adore called WsriteItNow. It keeps my characters with detailed descriptions, notes, submission traker, chapters, events and more. I've used it as a sort of diary in the past couple years. It holds so much information. I learned today that all of the information it held on my memoir and middle grade novel is lost. =0(

Apparently it saves under program files,. My bakup service Mozy did not back up program files. I thought it was in my regular directory under "My Dsocuments." I've lost countless hours of work and information.
I pray this service  that charged me $200.00 for a bunch of nothing will prove useful. Maybe they can recover it, if it wasn't corrupted. So, my post for today is simply a warning.  If you use a back up service, make sure yu understand exactly what is being backed up. I didn't realize it doesn't back up program files. This is in no way their fault. It was my own ignorance. Now I know better, but what an awful way to learn a lesson.

I'm paranoid now and will check and double check regulaly to  assure myself important information is being backed up. In the meantime, cross your fingers that I can reover the work.

It is sooo difficult to get a good back up. I use a separate plug in drive, but it takes ages as it insists on backing up everything.
I used to use a Buffalo but that failed one day and since it was expensive I didn't replace it.
