Book Review

What an idea for a book. Cows that type is an original and inventive premise for a book. Doreen Cronin’s first published book promises a lifetime of entertaining books for children to come. By sampling her other books one can enjoy the fulfillment of that promise.

The repetitive nature of the words lends itself to the ease of beginning readers reading it on their own. The artwork by Betsy Lewin and simple phrases are intertwined expertly. The pictures are simple like the words. Upon further examination the pictures are not too simplistic. Each illustration focuses on a few images. The uncomplicated visuals provided by the pictures compliment the simple words and phrases. Both are easy for the new reader to absorb.

The story would have suffered with more detailed text or illustrations. This was a humorous book and destined to be a favorite.
